I have lived in Portland, Oregon for 20 years. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 1981 then spent 5 years in Alaska getting my education in commercial and consumer banking. I made unsecured loans to village chiefs in small Alaska outposts and large condominium construction projects to national developers in Anchorage. My passion, though, was always in real estate and real estate lending.

After beginning a career in mortgage lending in Anchorage, my employer transferred me back 'home' to Portland. With the contacts I had made while attending the University of Oregon, I began my career in lending in the 'lower 48' as they used to call it in Alaska. During the past 20 years I have not only bought and sold homes, I have also rehabilitated several homes and am an owner of rental properties. This experience gives me a unique understanding of my clients' needs, concerns and fears--I've been in the home-buying and investing arena, too!
